It's said success occurs when preparation meets opportunity.

For Bruins' prospect, Fabian Lysell, opportunity once again lies ahead.

Boston's roster, currently, has a well-documented vacancy at 2nd-line RW.

Without adequate cap space to appropriately address externally, internal candidates will play to win the role in training camp, and throughout the regular season.

Trent Frederic, Morgan Geekie, Matthew Poitras, Georgii Merkulov, Justin Brazeau, Max Jones, and others, are skaters who may* be considered as an option - for one reason or another.

The most popular option, however, is Lysell.

Three years removed from being drafted 21st-overall, stars may be aligning for the skilled, 21-year old, to now make Boston's NHL roster.

IF he's prepared to do so.

Despite Lysell's obvious natural-talent, and skating-ability, his development has required much patience, and coaching.

He spent his first full season as a Bruins' prospect, playing for the Vancouver Giants of the WHL. There, he led his team in scoring - accumulating 22G, 40A, 62PTS, in 53GP.

He's since spent the last two seasons in the AHL, totaling 29G, 58A, 87PTS, in 110GP, for the Providence Bruins - the team's 2nd-highest leading scorer in that span.

However, adjusting to the professional game hasn't been seamless for Lysell.

He's battled multiple injuries that have, at times, hindered is developmental pace. He's also endured teaching moments regarding consistency and attention to detail.

But still, there comes a time, with certain top-prospects, where playing at the next level is required for continued growth.

It appears that may be the case for Lysell.

Could he still benefit from time in Providence? Sure.

But at this stage in his career - would he gain more VALUABLE experience playing in Boston? Yes, absolutely.

And with the aforementioned vacancy at 2nd-line RW, the Bruins could profit just as equally.

SO, once again.

Success occurs when preparation meets opportunity.

Lysell has the opportunity - but is he prepared to seize it? We'll find out soon enough.
